I have the opposite problem. I'm writing about real people that are so unbelievable that I've turned my book into fiction just to tone them down. Recently, a judge in a writing contest commented: "It is too much of a stretch of my imagination to find these characters believable." Sadly, that was after I changed my genre to fiction and toned down quirks. Now, it's back to the drawing board. Just stumbled upon this blog and had to comment. I have the opposite problem.
